The VA Eastern Kansas homeless services can help homeless veterans with immediate food and shelter, including both transitional and permanent housing.
My Father's House is a transitional housing program for single women and families with children that provides case management to homeless persons.

Hillcrest Hope offers a disciplined educational program whose main objective is to empower homeless and working poor families and individuals to achieve personal independence through transitional housing, accountability, education, and community. River of Refuge transitions homeless families with jobs from motels, shelters, and other unsuitable living conditions into permanent housing. They provide lodging and services for the working poor, providing them with a direct alternative to pay-by-the-week living arrangements and giving them the opportunity to receive resources needed to be successful in permanent housing.
Johnson County Family Lodge provides shelter to homeless families. Families can stay at the shelter for a maximum 3 months.
The Cornerstones of Care Pathways Transitional Living Program offers safe housing and wrap-around supportive services for young adults, 16-23, who are aging out of the foster care system or who have been unhoused. At Pathways, youth complete their education and learn life skills that they need in order to become more self-sufficient. A group home and apartments are located in Kanas City, MO and Kansas City, KS.
Hillcrest provides a transitional housing program for homeless youth, ages 16-24. Youth housing sites are located in Kansas City, KS and Overland Park, KS and Independence, MO. Youth transitional housing is up to a 24-month program. During this time, Hillcrest provides a rent- and utility-free apartment, access to a food pantry, and case management.

Offers transitional living for those who have "aged out" of foster care or can no longer live in group home. Provide supervised apartment setting for young adults with PTSD, depression, etc.
HPC Young Adult Housing Program provides safe housing, supportive case management, educational and employment guidance with life skills classes for homeless young adults and/or teen parents between the ages of 17-23. Participants may remain in the program based upon the desired life track chosen. This program is designed with four different tracks including a college, trade specific high school/Hi-set, as well as career and employment tracks to ensure participants graduate the program with a skill set that will provide them higher than minimum wage employment.
The Transitional Housing Program serves families with moderate barriers. Clients live on their campus in a fully furnished apartment. They work with case managers and volunteers to learn financial literacy, job readiness, and various life skills.
Short-term (6 months) transitional housing to provide psychiatric stabilization and skill development to address mental health and/or substance use recovery issues, in order to live successfully in an independent setting.

Hillcrest Platte County offers displaced families a disciplined educational program whose main objective is to move families from homelessness to self-sufficiency within 90 days by addressing the total live situation of the homeless families they serve. In exchange for rent/utility-free housing, residents are required by written agreement to work full time, obey program guidelines and attend volunteer-taught classes in life skills, employment, community living and budgeting.
