Good Samaritan Center helps seniors stay in their homes by coordinating services and volunteers to provide home repairs that improve safety like installing hand rails in the bathroom.
Metro Lutheran Ministry is providing minor home repair to homeowners 65+ and those with disabilities. They provide home assessments, repair estimates, and repairs to allow seniors and persons with disabilities to remain in their homes. The focus is on repairs that increase security and safety like wheelchair ramps, widening doorways, and installation of safety rails. Weatherization and LED bulb kits may also be available, pending funding availability.

HopeBUILDERS is a collaborative housing repair group, made up of volunteers in the community. They assist those in need in the Kansas City area with accessibility adaptations and home repairs.
Eligible KCMO homeowners who are in need of minor home repairs in targeted areas. The emergency home repair program is no longer in operation. Examples of eligible repairs include: Roofing, with a special emphasis on improvements which reduce storm water run-off from the site; Plumbing – water service line, which may include branch lines and water heater; Plumbing – sewer service line, which may include branch lines, or interior improvements; Electrical systems – service entrance and main panel, which may include branch circuits; and Furnace – (available September 1) repairs and replacements, which may include ductwork.
Helps with larger repairs such as siding, chimneys, bathrooms, steps, and replacing windows.
Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City provides minor and critical home repair for homeowners in the communities they serve. Assistance may include roof repair and replacement and HVAC repair and replacement.
VCP can assist with materials only (Written description and documented cost of materials requited). $1000 maximum assistance per year.

Examples include: access ramps; connecting exterior door or housing unit to grade level; handrails and guardrails; accessible kitchen cabinets; doors widened if structurally feasible; bathroom grab bars and toilet safety rails; handicap accessible toilets; zero entrance shower stalls; new bathroom facilities to accommodate a wheelchair; other improvements deemed appropriate on a case-by-case basis.
The NNI Home Repair Program helps low- to moderate-income homeowners with much needed repairs. Repairs NNI provides include: code violation remediation, roof replacement, plumbing and electrical repairs, repair of steps and walkways that pose a tripping or fall hazard, and exterior painting. Program based on funding availability, there may be a wait list.
Provides grants for ramp construction to make homes accessible.
Agency will assist individual in making bathroom more accessible.

Retired craftspeople from the Raytown community perform light plumbing, electrical or household repairs.
The Minor Home Repair program can help with small projects (1-2 hours) with materials paid for by the client. Examples of minor repairs include electrical (replace switches, sockets, plugs on cords, light bulbs; change fuses), plumbing (repair leaky faucets, shower heads, replace flapper valve on toilet, no drain work), carpentry (step repair, trim doors, repair door catches, cabinets, hinges; replace screens), replace furnace filters, evaluate concrete work, install weather stripping, smoke detectors, repair/replace locks. Referrals will be made for larger jobs.
