The supported work option establishes employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities in the local industries on an one-person one-job basis at or above minimum wage. A job coach develops the employment site, conducts a job analysis, matches an individual to the job, trains the individual on the job until the employers standards are met, gradually fading out as the individual is more independent.

Case plans are made for individuals with dual diagnosis, i.e., substance abuse and mental health challenges to assess needs, coordinate needed services, ensure services attained and to follow up and monitor progress.

Mid-Continent Public Library is a public library system in the Kansas City metropolitan area. The Children's Division Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline Unit (CA/NHU) accepts confidential reports of suspected child abuse, neglect, or exploitation. Reports are received through a toll-free telephone line which is answered seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Any person may report, and anonymous reports are accepted from individuals who are not mandated by occupation to report. Calls of concern can be made to each county office. Instructions may be given for the reporter to call the toll free number of the CA/NHU for the call to be made into a formal report.

Serves as an adult protective services provider for the Illinois Department of Aging. Investigates reports of abuse and neglect of disabled adults and adults over 60.

Has jurisdiction over children who need protective services and those accused of violating state and municipal law; also, hears adoption cases and domestic relations.
