Assists families in gaining knowledge that will prepare them to handle the everyday problems associated with maintaining a home, a family, an education, and a job.

Individuals or families needing to place their child(ren) into foster care should contact the office to discuss options. Also receives and reviews applications for families who would like to adopt or foster a child(ren)

Provides recruitment and training of foster care families for placement of dependent, abused and neglected children in the home.

Offers a variety of social and recreational activities such as field trips, art classes, sports leagues, and more.

Offers HIV testing.

Provides after-school and summer programs for children and teens in a safe, nurturing and caring environment.

This program helps detect breast & cervical cancers in their earliest stages when they are easiest to treat. Free mammograms & pap tests will be provided to women who meet income and age requirements. Other services for women are offered at this site.

Offers a variety of exercise and wellness classes for older adults such as functional fitness programs, yoga, pilates, muscle and bone strengthening classes to older adults.

Head Start is a comprehensive child development program for 3 to 5 year olds. Education, Nutrition, Health, Mental Health, Dental, Social Services, Parent involvement and Special services for children with disabilities. Focuses on delivering high-quality child development services to children from low-income families. CAPACITY No Restrictions

City of Independence water and sewer utility service.

Through partnership with the St. Louis Area Diaper Bank, diapers are distributed monthly to clients with children under age 5 enrolled in Nurturing Networks, which provides family-centered behavioral healthcare support to families impacted by substance use, co-occurring disorders, and trauma.

Provides parent education groups to help families navigate the challenges of parenting with support from peers. Childcare and transportation assistance are available to participants.

Responsible for locating non-custodial parents, establishing paternity, establishing child and medical support orders, monitoring and enforcing compliance with child and medical support orders, reviewing and initiating modification of support orders and distributing support collections.
