MoRx was created by the 93rd General Assembly to coordinate benefits with Medicare's (Part D) Prescription Drug Program, and to provide additional assistance for prescription drug costs to Missourians in need. MoRx pays for 50% of members' out of pocket costs remaining after their Medicare Prescription Drug Plan pays. It pays for 50% of the deductible, 50% of the co-pays before the coverage gap, 50% of the coverage gap, and 50% of co-pays in the catastrophic coverage. MoRx does not pay for the Medicare Part D Plan's monthly premium. MoRx uses the formulary of the Medicare Prescription Drug Plans. Any drug covered by a member's Medicare Drug Plan will also be covered by the MoRx plan. MoRx works with all Medicare Prescription Drug Plans. Dual eligible members will continue to have coverage for Medicare-excluded drugs through MO HealthNet. Medicare-excluded drugs include specific over-the-counter drugs, vitamins, minerals, limited cough and cold drugs, benzodiazepines and barbiturates as they are currently covered by MO HealthNet, as noted on the MO HealthNet Division Pharmacy pages. Extra help with paying for Medicare Part D costs is available from the Social Security Administration (SSA) for individuals with low income and limited assets. All dual eligibles automatically qualify for the extra help in paying for their premiums and co-pays. Other individuals may submit an application for extra help to the SSA.

Health screenings are provided for the following: Cardiovascular, Sexually Transmitted Diseases and HIV, Diabetes, Lead, and tuberculosis. Other screenings available upon request.

The Missouri Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) Program provides assistance that helps Missouri adults get the basic skills they need to be productive workers, family members, and citizens. The major areas of support are Adult Basic Education, Adult Secondary Education, and English Language Acquisition. These programs emphasize basic skills such as reading, writing, math, English language competency, and problem-solving.

Provides household goods vouchers to the St. Vincent DePaul thrift store to those who are unable to purchase the goods on their own.

Provides preventative care for acute and chronic conditions in children including routine and well child exams, immunizations, school and sports physicals, developmental evaluations, management and treatment of chronic conditions, such as allergy and asthma and more.

Mobile Dental Care Unit for those with disabilities. Traveling unit that visits the area once a year. People with disabilities are given priority. Low income and those with no insurance are then helped as able. Those is financial distress must be referred by the local Elk's Lodge. Provides complete range of library services which includes books, compact discs, dvd's, bookmobiles, etc., summer reading club, story time and various other programs for children.

As Foster Grandparents, senior men and women volunteer as mentors and tutors to children who have exceptional and special needs. These seniors serve in childcare centers, Head Start centers, state-supported facilities, public and private schools, and home settings.
