The Elizabeth Layton Center provides a crisis hotline for Miami & Franklin county residents in immediate need.
The helpline is open to anyone experiencing emotional distress related to disasters. This includes survivors of disasters; loved ones of victims; first responders; rescue, recovery, and relief workers; clergy; and parents and caregivers. You may call for yourself or on behalf of someone else.
Wounded Soldier and Family Hotline is also a line for Veterans, active duty, reservists, National Guardsman and family to call if they are contemplating suicide. The operator will attempt to get "hands on" the caller to make sure they don't cause harm to themselves which may mean soldiers on base or police for veterans calling from off-base.
Mental health crisis line for person in immediate need. JCMHS has a dedicated 988 Crisis Team that answers local calls to the National Suicide Prevention Hotline.
The Disaster Helpline offers crisis counseling from trained counselors for those who are in emotional distress related to any natural or human-caused disaster, information on how to recognize distress and its effects on individuals and families as well as disaster-specific resources and referral information.
