Legal Aid of Western Missouri provides free legal representation and counsel to disadvantaged seniors and low-income residents in civil (non-criminal) matters. Legal Aid has a limited capacity for cases due to capacity, so assistance may be limited at this time. Eviction assistance outside of RTC or Section 8 is not available. If the client is faced with a court eviction within the city limits of Kansas City, please have them complete a RTC application through 211. If the client is experiencing a voucher termination or an eviction of their Section 8 housing, they can contact Legal Aid to do an application for assistance.

The office coordinates the work of long-term care ombudsmen who helps residents to realize their rights, serve as problem solver/mediator and objective investigator of complaints.
