The SkillUP Program: Offers Food Stamp recipients in Missouri the opportunity to gain skills, training and work experience.

The Division of Youth Services (DYS) is the state agency charged with the care and treatment of delinquent youth committed to its custody by one of the 45 Missouri juvenile courts. DYS programs are established to provide the mandated services enumerated in Chapter 219.016 in the Revised Statutes of the state of Missouri. These services include assessment, care and treatment, and education of all youth committed to its care. Toward this end, DYS operates treatment programs ranging from non-residential day treatment centers through secure residential institutions. Additionally, DYS administers the Interstate Compact on Juveniles, operates an accredited school program, and maintains a statewide statistical database of juvenile court referrals. DYS is administratively organized into one central office and five regional offices.

The Missouri Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) Program provides assistance that helps Missouri adults get the basic skills they need to be productive workers, family members, and citizens. The major areas of support are Adult Basic Education, Adult Secondary Education, and English Language Acquisition. These programs emphasize basic skills such as reading, writing, math, English language competency, and problem-solving.

• Transitioning Program: Support youth on an IEP (Individualized Education Program) that are transitioning from secondary education to postsecondary life. Trainings offered to youth are pre employment skills, financial skills, nutrition information and communication skills.

• Transition Training Services Program (Transitions Program): Provides direct instruction within current participating school district classrooms preparing students to transition from school-to-work or school-to-high education or vocational training. The program teaches students vital independent living and career planning which are necessary to succeed in the next real life steps.

Provides door-to-door group transportation for medical appointments. Vehicles have lifts that accommodate people who use canes, walkers, and wheelchairs.

Consumer Directed Services (CDS) are those services required by a person with a Disability, other than skilled nursing, which enable him or her to live independently in the community by hiring individuals to perform routine tasks of daily living. Typical tasks include getting dressed and undressed, grooming, bathing, bowel and bladder care, meal preparation, eating, and clean-up and household duties.

Accepts donations of books and magazines that are not in need of repair, as well as toner cartridges; donations may be sold to earn money for the programs; a donation pick-up service is not available.

Provides a sheriff’s department responsible for enforcing all laws and regulations, preventing crime, investigating criminal activity, apprehending, arresting and detaining suspects, provides court security, serves legal documentation and manages county jails.
