The purpose of the MO HealthNet program is to provide medical services to persons who meet certain eligibility requirements as determined by FSD. The goals of the MO HealthNet program are to promote good health, to prevent illness and premature death, to correct or limit disability, to treat illness, and to provide rehabilitation to persons with disabilities. Eligible persons receive a "MO HealthNet Identification Card" or a letter from the local FSD office. The Family Support Division (FSD) determines client eligibility for the MO HealthNet program: the MO HealthNet Division administers the MO HealthNet program including establishment of benefit coverage, rates, claims processing, and all other aspects of daily operations.

This program helps detect breast & cervical cancers in their earliest stages when they are easiest to treat. Free mammograms & pap tests will be provided to women who meet income and age requirements. Other services for women are offered at this sight.

Providing a food pantry

Services are offered for children and parents involved in the adoption process. These include the evaluation of the child's needs prior to placement, and arrangements for care of the child prior to the child's adoptive placement and to the approval of the adoptive family. Also, special activities are provided to help adoptive parents and children adjust to the new family situation.

Offers a variety of recreational, fitness, and fellowship opportunities for youth and adults, call for details of specific programs.

Provides free or reduced-cost mammograms, breast exams and pap tests for eligible Missouri women.

Support group for individuals and loved ones impacted by mental illness.

Assists individuals in finding the best job match available in conjunction with interests, skills and abilities, may include job development and follow-up and retention services.

Provide low interest loans or deferred payment loans to individuals over 62 years of age or disablede for home repairs and rehabilitation. Also provide regular loans for other individuals who meet the criteria of the program.

Houses fire equipment and trains firefighters necessary for a quick and efficient response to fires when they occur.

Operates as the Police for New Athens, Illinois responsible for protecting lives and property.

Provides various arts and crafts activities and exercise groups and equipment

Independent Living Skills Training: Provides individuals the opportunity to learn the skills and develop the necessary resources to maximize personal independence. Skill training include, but are not limited to, use of community resources, budgeting, transportation skills, cooking skills, self-advocacy, household management, nutrition, organizational skills, communication skills and stress management.

The library is open to the general public as a Cooling/Warming center during periods of extreme heat or cold.

LIHEAP:

• Beginning September 1, elderly, age 60 years and older and/or disabled household member, who may also be disconnected from their utilities or under imminent threat of losing their heating source from propane/wood may apply for assistance.
• Beginning November 1 households with children under the age of six years and households who are disconnected from their utilities and under imminent threat of losing their heating source from propane/wood may apply for assistance.
• General public can apply for assistance starting December 1-May 31, or until funds are depleted whichever comes first.

Offers complete primary care services for the entire family, services include sports physicals.
