Temporary Assistance for Needy Families: Provides benefits to families with needy children (due to death, desertion, mental, physical problems or unemployment).

This police department is a safe haven for persons wishing to legally surrender physical custody of their infant. A parent or other person having lawful custody of an infant may leave the infant (without fear of prosecution) in the hands of staff. A parent will not be prosecuted for leaving their newborn at a safe haven if they follow the laws, assuming the child is under 60 days old and shows no signs of abuse or neglect.

Health screenings are provided for the following: Cardiovascular, Sexually Transmitted Diseases and HIV, Diabetes, Lead, and tuberculosis. Other screenings available upon request.

Accepts donations of home medical equipment, in good working condition. Devices include, but are not limited to, shower chairs, grab bars, toilet seats, portable commodes, wheelchair ramps, seating cushions, back supports and positioning devices, dressing aids, van lifts and stair lifts.

24 hour inpatient medical detoxification at hospital for people in active withdrawal to help them become medically stable (usually a three-day stay) and begin the after-care process. After-care can include help with residential placement, outpatient services, transitional housing, and other services to assist with recovery.

Several volunteer opportunities are available either as a Buddy, Officer or Advisor. Buddy Programs: Volunteers are paired with individuals with intellectual or developmental disabilities to create and maintain friendships. Volunteers are matched with a peer with similar interests. Friendship pairs talk at least once a week and meet in person twice a month. Officer: Volunteers with or without an intellectual or developmental disability works with a team to plan events and support friendships in their area. Advisor: Volunteer teachers or school faculty who support student leadership programs in managing chapters on campus or in a workplace.

Food pantry.

Houses fire equipment and trains firefighters necessary for a quick and efficient response to fires when they occur.

Provides parent education groups to help families navigate the challenges of parenting with support from peers. Childcare and transportation assistance are available to participants.

Provides education and technical assistance with health planning, evaluates the quality of health facilities, conducts inspections and enforces regulations.

Environmental Health Protection Division: Educates on food borne illness.

Provides psychological assessments including learning disability and Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), violence risk evaluations, parenting competency evaluations, developmental disability (MR/Autism Spectrum) evaluations, diagnostic clarification evaluations, child and adult personality evaluations. Assessments are with the client and includes clinical and collateral interviews, completion of self-report and collateral behavior rating scales, cognitive testing, measures of adaptive behavior (if indicated), and review of records, mental status examination, trauma screening and assessment, personality testing, achievement testing, and if indicated, attention/impulsivity testing, assessment of parenting skills and competencies, risk assessment and neuropsychological screening,

Provides assistance with TANF appeals and/or complaints.

The Dental Hygiene Program offers a low-cost dental hygiene clinic to the public. All dental hygiene services are provided, including oral exams, dental cleanings, fluoride treatments, sealants, athletic mouth guards, x-rays and bleach trays (must complete a cleaning first). Services provided by dental hygiene students under the close supervision of faculty.
