Mid-Continent Public Library is a public library system in the Kansas City metropolitan area. The library offers varied programming for children and adults, including book clubs, story times, job finding classes and technology instruction. The library also schedules adult enrichment programs, such as cooking and arts and crafts instruction.

Legal Services: Provides civil legal assistance through direct representation by agency attorneys, paralegals, and volunteers in the courts, administrative and regulatory agencies. Representation is provided concerning legal issues in the areas of public benefits, unemployment compensation, health, education, consumer, housing, family, domestic, and problems specific to the elderly. Makes appropriate referrals to other legal providers for cases and matters it doesn't handle, and also makes non-legal referrals to appropriate agencies.

Grant recipients must be 62 years of age or older, and show they cannot afford a 1% repair loan.

Utility Assistance: Provides assistance to low-income individuals for propane, wood and natural gas assistance. Partial payments are made to avoid utility cut-offs.
