Students tend to have disorders such as Attention Deficity Disorder (ADD), Tourette Syndrome, Asperger Syndrome, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (ODD), Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Oppositional Defiance Disorder (ODD).

Giant Steps' school provides a coordinated program of therapy and academic instruction. Each student's program is structured according to their Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and is designed to build skills in daily living, academics, communication, social interaction and community access. Older students participant in pre-vocational studies and may have the opportunity to earn high school credits. Small-Group Instruction includes social skills training, adaptive physical education, art and pre-vocational studies. Individual sessions include academics, speech therapy, occupational therapy and music therapy.

Health screenings are provided for the following: Cardiovascular, Sexually Transmitted Diseases and HIV, Diabetes, Lead, and tuberculosis. Other screenings available upon request.
