Financial Planning: Values and goals, budgeting, credit, comparison shopping and buying a car. Parent Education; Communication skills & styles; self esteem issues; constructive discipline; creative play. Nutrition/Shopping Skills: Nutrition guidelines & food safety; food buying; consumer tips. Time/Stress Management: Effectively gain control of time usage & habits. Coping with stress; techniques to reduce stress; children & stress. Health Care: Family health care; normal child development; self health care. Employment Skills: Job readiness and retainment skills training.

All financial assistance is now provided through this comprehensive financial literacy program. Clients meet with a case manager regularly to learn about finances and get their bills in order.

The HelpKC offers a credit improvement program. They focus on credit education, debt navigation, and strategies to help participants raise their credit scores to 700 or higher.

Economic Empowerment is an interactive program working with families to give them skills in budgeting, asset building, saving for a home, and retirement, bringing them to a more financially-stable place. Homebuyer classes offered in Spanish, in addition to a homebuying match program called Bienvenido a Mi Casa.

Each participant will receive a personal financial coach and individualized budget counseling for one year. Participants will also attend a series of financial education classes, offered for children and adults.

The Financial Opportunity Center provides financial coaching. This program is a long term commitment, at least six months. Once enrolled in this program, a client may be eligible for some income supports.
