The Accessibility Modification Grant Program pays for installation or modifications to eliminate barriers in the home. Examples include: access ramps; connecting exterior door or housing unit to grade level; handrails and guardrails; accessible kitchen cabinets; doors widened if structurally feasible; bathroom grab bars and toilet safety rails; handicap accessible toilets; zero entrance shower stalls; new bathroom facilities to accommodate a wheelchair; other improvements deemed appropriate on a case-by-case basis.
The Home Repair Program provides assistance to very-low income households with home repairs that would pose a health and/or safety issue for the homeowner and the community. Eligible conditions include barrier removal.
