The City of Olathe provides several housing programs to eligible homeowners including the Deferred Loan Program, which is designed to address current building code violations, upgrade major systems and utilize energy-related improvements and the Emergency Repair Grant Program is for repairs that affect health and safety.

Fee

The Emergency Repair Program is a grant that does not require payback or fees. The Deferred Loan Program is an interest-free loan that will be forgiven a maximum of 50% over the period of 7 years, with the balance of the loan due in full when the loan recipient ceases to own or occupy the home.

Eligibility

Home must be located within city limits and not within a designated flood plain area; Owner/occupant of the home for a minimum of one year prior to applying; must be current on mortgage payments and property taxes; must have adequate homeowner's insurance policy in force; income guidelines. There may be additional program eligibility requirements based on the program.
