Legal Aid’s Human Rights Protection unit provides free civil legal counsel and representation for low-income people. The unit helps those experiencing legal issues with the immigration process. The unit also assist victims of human trafficking who need civil legal assistance.

Legal Aid of Western Missouri (LAWMO) is a non-profit organization providing free legal representation and counsel to disadvantaged seniors and low-income residents in civil (non-criminal) matters so that they may have the necessities of food, clothing, shelter, health care and safety. LAWMO works to ensure there is equal access to justice for those without the ability to pay.
