Eligibility
Income less than $69,000 in 2025 OR Special Population (Limited English Proficiency, People with disabilities, 60+), all adults on return must be present to sign, no Schedules E, or F (rental/royalty income, farm income) and no business, estate, trust or foreign returns
Required documents
Photo ID for taxpayer and spouse SS cards for each family member or Individual Taxpayer ID Numbers (ITIN) Income documentation for all jobs worked in year you're filing for (W-2s, 1099s, 1098s, etc) Health Insurance form 1095 from employer/insurance company/government child care provider name/address/tax ID College tuition/Student loan interest/Mortgage interest/Property taxes/Charitable contributions documentation Copy of last year's return if available -If senior or disabled - bring paid property tax or rent documentation -If you have a bank account, bring a voided check for automatic deposit of refund

Make an appointment online or by calling 211 or 816-474-5112 to schedule; appointments may be made by 211 on Monday-Friday, 9am-7pm until slots are filled for the next two weeks. Tax preparation for prior year returns and amendments for prior tax years. VITA volunteers can also assist if a tax payer has received a letter from the IRS about a return from these years. This service is offered outside of the usual tax preparation season and they can prepare taxes from 2020-2025.
