Application process
Go online or text to find the Safe Place locations in your zip code. Youth may visit any Safe Place with the yellow diamond sign and say they aren't safe. Staff will put them in a safe place and call the on-call number to get an outreach worker to the location within 30 minutes. They may provide assistance and a ride to shelter if needed.

As a collaborative community prevention initiative, Safe Place designates businesses and organizations as Safe Place locations, making help readily available to youth in communities across the country. Safe Place locations include: libraries, YMCAs, fire stations, public buses, various businesses, and social service facilities. Services are Runaway/Homeless Youth Helplines, Community Safe Places
