Protect children who are reported to be abused or neglected and to increase their families' capacity to safely care for them by providing appropriate, permanent families as quickly as possible for those children who cannot safely return home, support early intervention and child abuse prevention activities and works in partnerships with communities. Services include Missing Persons Location Assistance, Adoption Information/Referrals, Foster Parent/Family Recruitment, Children's Protective Services, Child Abuse Counseling, Child Abuse Hotlines and Foster Home Placement. ALSO KNOWN AS DCFS ALTON DCFS

Eligibility

  • Anyone who suspects that a child is being abused or neglected by a caregiver
  • ALL Mandated Reporters are required by under penalty of law to report suspected abuse

Required documents

Mandated Reporters must submit a written report within three days of verbal telephone report
