Extreme Weather Shelters | MCRC - Willa Gill Center

The Willa Gill Center serves as an overnight Cold Weather Shelter when temperature is 25 degrees Fahrenheit or below. Guests will be provided with a warm meal, a sleeping mat, a blanket, and a tent to sleep in. In the morning guests will also be provided with a grab-and-go breakfast as they leave the shelter by 7am.

Application process

Determination whether the shelter will be open for the evening will be made by 8am each day, call 913-725-0079 to verify. Then guests should visit location starting at 5:30pm, shelter doors will open at 6:30pm. Shelter will close by 7am.
