Eligibility
Cash assistance is only available for families with dependent children under 18 years old. Adults must work or participate in work activities in order to receive cash assistance, unless they take care of a disabled household member or a child under 2 months of age. The amount of cash benefit provided depends upon the family's income and the county where the family lives. Families can only receive TANF assistance for 36 months in a lifetime.
