General Legal Aid | Johnson County District Court Help Center

The Help Center assists those who cannot afford an attorney in family law (including divorce and parental rights) and eviction cases. Individuals can find and fill out necessary paperwork and obtain general information about how the court system in Kansas works. Representatives from Kansas Legal Services are available twice a week to provide limited legal assistance for those that qualify.

Johnson County District Court is the 10th Judicial District of Kansas. The court has general original jurisdiction over all civil and criminal cases, including divorce and domestic relations, damage suits, probate and administration of estates, guardianships, conservatorships, care of the mentally ill, juvenile matters, and small claims.
