The VA offers a housing voucher program called HUD-VASH that works similarly to Section 8.
Eligibility
Yearly income must not exceed the Housing Authority income guidelines. Must be Homeless per federal definition (preference given to chronically homeless and vulnerable individuals); Must be eligible & registered for Veteran Health benefits.
Required documents
Proof of homelessness documentation and DD 214 if available.
